7 Ways To Recovery After Miscarriage Surgery
I just got home from my midwifery job. I had 3 different emails for women that asked me about recovery after miscarriage surgery. Bad start to 2019. On top of this, I just counseled one of my patients today about recovery after miscarriage as she just miscarried and I had to schedule her a D&C.
The two most common miscarriage surgeries that are done if needed are a D&C or D&E. Both surgeries have to be done under anesthesia in a medical facility normally a hospital. They are quick 20-minute procedures and the physical recovery is quick. However, because it is a miscarriage is an emotionally devastating recovery after miscarriage surgery can be long and painful.
A D&E or dilatation and evacuation is the name of the medical procedure that is sometimes needed to removes non-viable pregnancy contents in women who have a late first-trimester miscarriage. A D&C is the name of the medical procedure that is sometimes needed to remove miscarriage contents from inside the womb in an early pregnancy miscarriage. Some women do not need any surgery at all as her body will pass or absorb the miscarriage.
Here are 7 Ways To Recovery After Miscarriage Surgery:
- Be easy on yourself, let the anesthesia wear off and let the reality of what you are going through sink in.
- Don’t blame yourself or others, there was nothing you or anyone else could have done to prevent this pregnancy miscarriage.
- Take some time to be alone and feel your feelings – watching some sad movies is a great way to get you to cry and let the tears flow.
- Eat your favorite foods as this will naturally uplift your emotions.
- Keep well hydrated as dehydrated cells have less life force energy and feel sadder.
- If you know a homeopath call them and get an appointment as they will have some great grief remedies.
- Decide to do a ceremony to let the spirit of the baby you lost be free and let your own spirit be free from guilt, shame or blame.
