Pregnancy 101 | Bed Rest During Pregnancy:
http://www.lumalove.com/ So here you are, you are pregnant, and you have been advised to go on bed rest. Well, there is only one reason why you have been advised to go on bed rest. That is because your physician or your midwife or your nurse practitioner whoever is taking care of you during your pregnancy has concerns that you either have a medical problem that could get worse if you are up running around doing all sorts of stuff they are worried that you could deliver the baby early.
When you have to be on bed rest in pregnancy you have to clarify with your provider does it mean I have to be in bed all day long and I can just get up to go to the bathroom and where is the bathroom located. If the bathroom is upstairs and you are downstairs or whatever at rest, then that could be a problem. Your practitioner may advise you to be on strict bed rest which could be for placenta previa. If the placenta is very low down in the neck of your womb and there is a risk that you could be hemorrhage, and you have already started to have a little bit of bleeding then that would usually mean that you are on strict bed rest. Strict bed rest means you cannot get up and if you did need to get up, it would be just to the bathroom that is on the same level as where your bed is.
Strict bed rest during pregnancy:
So bed rest in pregnancy can be strict bed rest, or it can be resting for a good few hours during the day. Sometimes we are so concerned about your health and the safety of your baby, and we know that you are not going to be complaint resting at home.
